Beth Kellett
Sun Hydraulics Corporation
Beth Kellett is responsible for IT systems for Sun Hydraulics worldwide.
Founded in 1970 in Sarasota, Sun designs and manufactures hydraulic cartridge valves and manifolds for the mobile and industrial equipment markets. The company has operations in the United States, the United Kingdom, Germany, France, Korea and China. There are three United States facilities, two in Sarasota, Florida with over 600 employees, and one in Lenexa, Kansas.
Sun has a unique and innovative culture with no job titles, no hierarchy, no formal job descriptions, organizational charts or departments, and a high degree of trust at all levels to eliminate barriers to innovation and initiative. An open office environment promotes open communication.
Sun employs a broad spectrum of systems and network tools and technologies, with ERP systems an important ingredient of running the business. Sun’s networks are configured to allow global collaboration between the various companies. The company has implemented applications allowing exchange of information and data with customers and suppliers. Other important applications are involved in engineering design, and integrated with the sunhydraulics.com website, which is highly technical because of the customer base.
Beth has been with Sun for 10 years, originally in finance and for the last four years in IT. Prior to Sun, she was with Loral Data Systems (now L-3 Communications) for a number of years. She is a graduate of the University of Florida, has CMA certification from the Institute of Management Accountants, is a member of Leadership Sarasota and volunteers with Junior Achievement.
