As Vice President and Chief Executive Officer for the University of South Florida Sarasota-Manatee Campus, Dr. Laurey T. Stryker oversees a campus program which serves some 3,500 students annually, and offers 39 high demand academic programs. She’s spent nearly 25 years in education starting as a charter Hillsborough Community College Political Science faculty member, serving as the Assistant Commissioner of Education and a Vice President at USF.
She came to USF Sarasota-Manatee to develop the campus into an indispensable asset in economic and human resource development and a source of pride for all residents. Within the first three years, annual enrollment grew from 1,500 to 3,500 and the campus now has some 39 undergraduate and graduate degrees as well as a brand new academic campus which will accommodate over 5,000 students.
Dr. Stryker’s academic experience is broadened by assignments as Florida’s Deputy Labor Secretary and Vice President for Planning and Product Development for a health management subsidiary of the Traveler’s Insurance Company.
She earned her bachelor’s and master’s degrees in Political Science and her Ed.D. in Higher Education Management, all from Florida State University.
