Michael Hinman is a staff writer for the Tampa Bay Business Journal, a 25-year-old award-winning publication serving Sarasota, Manatee, Pinellas, Hillsborough, Polk, Pasco and Hernando counties. Michael’s primary beats include technology, residential real estate and economic development. Over the years, he's been honored at the state level for his reporting several times.

Since relocating to Florida in 1996, Michael has been editor of the Temple Terrace News, a weekly newspaper published by The Tampa Tribune, a deputy editor for The Pasco News in Dade City and the editor of the Zephyrhills News in Pasco County.

He spent the early part of his career in radio broadcasting as both a newscaster and also an on-air personality for WLMI-FM in Kane, Pa. where he hosted the popular “Sunday Fifth Quarter” weekly sports program, and later WKBI-FM and WKBI-AM in St. Marys, Pa. where he was a disc jockey.
